–Dippy defending herself from Petey. | ||
Dippy is a recurring character who first appeared in the third chapter of Dog Man, Book 'Em, Dog Man! She was dumb after Petey stole all of the books in the world, and it appears to have never recovered after all the books were restored. After Petey enters her donut store, Dippy's Donuts, she acts extremely dumb, mistaking "donuts" for "bagels" repeatedly and telling the maker to make sixteen bagels rather than a dozen donuts, resulting in Petey's storming out of the donut shop in anger with a bag of bagels.
Appearances[]
Dog Man[]
Petey went to her donut shop because he wanted to get some donuts, but she repeatedly messed up his order. She kept saying that they sell them by the dozen, even though Petey asked for twelve, which is exactly a dozen. Then she says that they only sell them by sixteen. She understood, but then told the baker to make "sixteen bagels" rather than twelve donuts like Petey wanted. Petey told her straight, but she just told him to make up his mind, then asked him if he wanted mustard for his bagels. This causes Petey to rage about how he doesn't want bagels nor mustard, and only donuts. But this time, she lectured him and told him that she's not an idiot and he needs to show her some respect and then she gave him his bagels.
A Tale of Two Kitties[]
She tried to adopt Li'l Petey from Petey, selling it for free. Despite reading the sign "Free Kitty", she asked how much it costs, then Petey replied "a dollar!". After realizing she only has $10, Petey took the dollars anyway. After her naming Li'l Petey 'Snowball', Li'l Petey called her "Poo-Poo Head." In disgust, she handed Li'l Petey back to Petey, and left furiously.
Dog Man and Cat Kid[]
She worked at a shop called Cannery Grow. She acted similar to what she did back in Dog Man. She didn't know how to sort the numbers from 1 to 10, driving Petey crazy for 22 minutes. Petey yelled at her, causing her to cry. Petey felt sorry. However, after a few minutes, Petey was driven crazy again, yelled at her, and stole one of her bottles of Cannery Grow anyway. She was outraged at Petey for what he did, and she thought about calling 911, but is too stupid to do so. She can't find 9, and after finding it, forgot the number after 9 and never called 911.
Brawl of the Wild[]
She slammed a danger sign over a hole just as Judge and Gassy Behemoth Studios Guard were climbing out, knocking them back in the hole, exclaiming, "I helped!" She was later seen in the burning theater, thinking it was a 3-D movie. Dog Jail inmates later saved her.
For Whom the Ball Rolls[]
At the beginning of the first chapter, a photograph of her being rescued by a group of former Dog Jail inmates from the previous book can be seen on the news.
Mothering Heights[]
She can be seen playing the drums during Mecha Molly's rise.
Twenty Thousand Fleas Under The Sea[]
A photograph of her can be seen on the news when the townspeople are throwing pies at each other.
The Scarlet Shedder[]
She attended the wedding and got an A.I. Buddy which drove her off a cliff while she takes a selfie.
Big Jim Begins[]
She appeared briefly in flashbacks as a child.
Big Jim Believes[]

Trivia[]
- Despite all the books being returned to all the people in the world at the end of George and Harold's "benefits of reading" book, she still seems to be idiotic, possibly because she never owned any books, was mentally scarred from the lack of books, or was never very intelligent to begin with.
- She is the only minor character from Captain Underpants who reappeared in the Dog Man Series.
- Her name, "Dippy," means stupid, no-brainer, or foolish, which she is.
- In Dog Man and A Tale of Two Kitties, her dress is short-sleeved, but in Dog Man and Cat Kid and Mothering Heights, the dress is long-sleeved.
- The Scarlet Shedder's 10th chapter is the 1st time we've seen Dippy on a Chapter Cover.
