Butler was a character that appeared in Dog Man. As shown in the first book, he was using binoculars to spy on Officer Knight and Greg the Dog. And then, he goes downstairs with Petey, the main antagonist and tritagonist to figure out their strengths on a blackboard. Later, after a bunch of other stuff happened, he spied on Dog Man and then Petey led him downstairs again to reveal the Vacuum Cleaner 2000. Then, after Petey zoomed away on the Vacuum Cleaner 2000, in Book 'Em, Dog Man! he got so dumb that he married a trash bag and was promptly fired by Petey. He has not been seen in the novel series ever since, but he hasn't been able to get to appear much.
In DreamWorks' film adaptation of Dog Man, he's reimagined as a 21-year-old female intern who doesn't care much about her job. Based on her brief appearances, she is shown to be very sassy, making remarks at Petey after he immediately fired her for asking to take the day off tomorrow as it was her mother's birthday. However, she does return to Petey's lab: once to retrieve her phone charger she left behind and twice to annoy Petey by showing him a photo she took of Dog Man and Li'l Petey bonding together.
